The Artist
Sijae Byun is an artist who observes time from the outside while constructing its interior by translating memory and imagination into equal material. Working with multimedia and layered silk, she transforms the instability and overlap of memory and imagination into color, layers, surfaces, repetition, and botanical structures, proposing time not as a linear flow but as an accumulative and growing inner space. Rather than narrating time, Byun builds structures in which time can dwell and where past, present, and future coexist as a sustained condition.
