CYNTHIA BJORN

Cynthia Bjorn develops a visual vocabulary in which hundreds of thousands of brush marks are laid upon each other, and the variation of colors are infused with energy, spirituality, and intention. She creates through an organic process of letting go and connecting to her work.

Her mark-making is a therapeutic vehicle of expression. Paintings consist of intricate layers of marks, carefully built up over time to achieve their characteristic texture and unique sense of depth. The overall tone takes the chaotic mark-making process and composes an atmospheric structure creating a sense of calm.
