To build a better Fashion and Arts Community, we first must CONNECT the Fashion Community. Fashion District NW and ryan james fine arts present CONNECT: A FASHION EVENT. This event isn't just a social gathering, but a way to bring our fashion and arts community together.


Summerfest Music & Arts Festival

Summerfest is Kirkland’s premier music and arts festival  — returning for its 7th year in 2018, this three-day tour de force boasts dozens of live performances and art activities, fine arts, and makers fair, indoor and outdoor entertainment venues, purveyors of fine foods, local beers and wine, and interactive activities. With over 35,000 attendees, Summerfest is Kirkland’s signature event of the year. 2018 marks the 4th year of arts programming and curation led by Ryan James, Carol Belval, and Artist Urban Soule.


Congressional Arts Competition- Congresswoman Suzan DelBene 

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. For the past 4 years as a Juror Panelist, Ryan James has had the honor of selecting the winning artwork for the 1st Congressional District. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.



Garden of You Nytec

The “Garden of You” sculpture garden curated by ryan james fine arts was developed to provide an inspiring haven for the employees of Nytec Inc. Creating an environment which encourages creative thinking, collaboration, and well-being. Six sculpture works from local WA Sculptors are showcased yearly. 



Ekphrastic Assimilations: Finding Poetry in Art 

Ekphrastic Assimilations featured painting, photography and mixed-media visual art from six Chinese artists and six WA artists.The event crosses boundaries between image and text, cultural backgrounds and language forming an assimilation of understanding and expression. The project was curated by Paul Manfredi and produced by ryan james fine arts, presented with VALA Art Center, The Seattle Art Museum Gardner Center for Asian Art &Ideas and the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation.



A night full of art, entertainment and body positivity! Live music, a body painting performance, interactive art installations and more. Produced by the Body Joy Project with arts curation by ryan james fine arts. Body Joy Project is an artist collective creating work that critiques and challenges the way our culture thinks about the body. 



cARTography: Personal Metaphors and Mindful Maps

Produced by ryan james fine arts and curated by Dawn Laurant, cARTography featured forty national and international artists represented from 15 different countries. Showcasing artists who use maps or mapping in their work, a connection to their location, geography, memories, and journeys remembered or imagined. Many artists are cross-disciplinary working in the fields of science, engineering, and architecture as well as art.


Art in Action at the Woodmark

A two-year exhibition Curated by ryan james fine arts with supporting partnerships of Red Reiter Gallery, Drybones Artist Collective, Kirkland Arts Center, VALA Art Center, and Katy Hagelin Dance Project. A quarterly art exhibition showcasing 40 WA mixed media artists in tandem with special modern dance performances. 



Art Rhythm: A 5771 Mile Journey 

A cultural exchange with China curated by ryan james fine arts, highlighting rural folk art paintings from the City of Cixi and traditional celadon works from the Zhejiang province with featured contemporary works by Artist Yan Li from the City of Shanghai. 


Nytec Kirkland Fish Frolic

What’s a Fish Frolic you ask? An exciting celebration of art, artists, and the Kirkland community produced by Nytec Inc. The Kirkland Fish Frolic Committee led by Art Consultant Kathy Feek, commissioned base sculptures of fish from artist Don Rothwell. Each of these base fiberglass sculptures went to various renowned local and regional artists commissioned to embellish them in the artists own style


The Truth of Art: A Child's Perspective

We asked they answered. The truth of art explores how children ages 6 to 11 view and interpret abstract art. ryan james fine arts in partnership with The Boys and Girls Clubs of America challenged children to define the meaning in six abstract works by local WA artists. Inspired by the works and their interpretations the children were asked to create their own abstract works. The end result culminated in an exhibition highlighting the child's verbal response to the works playing on a video loop alongside the original six artworks with the works created by the children.



Bellevue Arts Museum: BAMignite

Proud sponsor of BAMignite April 12th: a high-energy, interactive after-hours event celebrating BAM's newest exhibitions, including Zoom, Italian Design and the Photography of Aldo and Marirosa Ballo.



Mary Alice Long of Play = Peace collaborated with ryan james fine arts creating a performance piece responding in performance to art photography images of the body (Jeff Wilson), Nature (Tobias Smith & Bruce Yates), and Water ( Sean Harwin & Bruce Yates) weaving in, weaving out through story and music.
